Apple beats Chinese rival Xiaomi, Oppo market leader
With 44.9 million iPhone sold in China, Apple has surpassed rival Xiaomi, the company otherwise known as Apple China to sell 41.5 million smartphones and now slipped to fifth place, according to the report of the research firm market - IDC .Apple has declined from 58.4 million iPhones it had in 2015 and 64 million mobile Xiaomi Mi, marking a decrease of 23 percent and 36 percent, respectively.
Oppo is the first since has sold 78.4 million phones - or more than double the 35.4 million it had in 2015.
Huawei came in second place with 76 million units, while Vivo has reached almost double its shipments, going from 35 million it had in 2015 to 69 million units in the year-end.
Despite the decline, IDC believes that Chinese vendors shall have 'eaten' participation in the Apple market.
Many users of Apple is expected to wait for the new iPhone to be launched this year, and that will help the most well-known American brand to see an increase in 2017.
